I can’t believe its already been a week since 2015 began, how is time flying by so quickly?
I personally love watching videos and reading posts on the best beauty products of 2014 so here I go too. Please don’t mind some of the products are a bit grubby looking.. well I have been using and loving these products all year long any way. It can’t look shiny and new forever!
Theres obviously a whole lot more, but Im just keeping it minimal so you don’t fall asleep reading an awfully long blog post.
I got this foundation during the summer and Ive been using it literally every time I do my makeup. Its my go-to foundation for everyday and special occasion-ish use. Im in the shade N53 – Golden Beige and it is the PERFECT shade for my skin tone. As you can tell Im going to run out of it soon and Im considering a repurchase! 🙂
Apparently, Bourjois and Chanel are owned and manufactered by the same company and this foundation is said to be the same as the Chanel Lumiere foundation. (Dupe alert).
(Got this for AED 95, I think!)
2. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and Sephora Collection 8hr Perfect Cover Concealer.
Both of which I have mentioned numerous times on my blog before. Definitely my most used concealers. I have to admit the MAC concealer is a bit too orange for my liking but The two of them mixed together create the perfect shade for underneath my eyes. These are the two concealers that I use the most on a daily basis, and have been most of the year round. The MAC concealer is in the shade NW35 and the SEPHORA one is in Medium 31.
I have hit pan on my sephora concealer and am in the lookout for another one to try out. Do leave suggestions in the comments if you’ve got any!
(MAC – AED 110, Sephora AED 75)
Quite possibly the best pressed powder Ive used! Very light weight and sets concealer and foundation perfectly. I don’t really have oily skin to use a lot of it but I do anyway because Im all about that matte life. I love mattifying my makeup. All in all a great powder!
You can tell I love it so much because of how grubby and gross it looks! And Ive hit pan too.
I could not just pick one blush, so Im putting the two on here. They are definitely the two of my most used blushes and I love them to bits! Ive used them all year round and I have to say they are flattering with any look! 🙂
(Unfortunately the lighting wasn’t good enough to take a picture of the exact shade, but I have posted them here before so click here to look at the NYX blush and here for the H&M one 🙂 – just scroll down a bit!)
Im not really much into the contouring game, but I do like adding some bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks and temples just to add some dimension to my face. I dig this bronzer because it isnt too shimmery or anything over the top, just a regular – natural looking bronzer pretty much.
Definitely my most used highlighter of the year! Like I mentioned earlier I love mattifying everything on my face BUT I do use this highlighter to add a subtle hint of dewiness to my look! Works wonders. Click here for my full review on this product 🙂
This is easily my most used eyeshadow palette of all time, not just 2014. Though the colors on here are really neutral, I can’t explain my love for this! You can mix it up with other colors to neutralise them, or you can do a really simple everyday eye look. Theres really so much that can be done with this and I love it very much!
My favourite thing to do is use ‘Faint’ in the crease, ‘Naked 2’ on the lid and ‘Venus’ in the inner corner.
I generally do use the shade Venus on its own as a highlight under the brow bone and inner corner, even if I just have eyeliner and mascara on!

This my friends, is my eyelash dream team. I love using them both individually as well as layered together. Amazing results and very long wearing. It doesn’t clump and holds a curl perfectly 😀
What more do you want?
I generally use The Rocket as an everyday mascara, its very voluminous and perfect for glasses wearers like me, The Falsies I find is very lengthening and voluminous at the same time. My favourite though, is using the two together. My most used mascaras of 2014? sir yes sir!
9. Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in 34 La Raffinee, and Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine in the shade 7.
Ive obviously used tons of lip products in 2014, I mean thats a given. But these two are quite possibly my most loved lip purchases of the year. The Chanel lipstick is a matte deep pink shade and I use it literally every day! Im going to run out of it really soon and the YSL lippy is a slightly shiny rose shade which I think is very flattering with a perfect winged liner or heavy eye make up look.
Click here to look at swatches of the two lipsticks (scroll to number 3 okay?)
And there you have it, 9 favourites from 2014! Theres obviously a whole lot more.
Hope 2014 brings you tons of joy and blessings! Heres to a million more blog posts of me rambling about things.
What did you love the most in 2014?
