Im definitely a hot chocolate person, and Ive been making a ton of it lately!
I have shared a hot chocolate recipe here in the past but this is just my ‘new and improved’ version obviously. There is just the addition of a few extra ingredients which make the world of a difference!
This recipe makes one mug full of hot chocolate, so do double up if you’re making for more people. 🙂
Ingredients – any chocolate of your choice, 1 cup of milk (any milk), 1/4 cup of heavy cream, a pinch of salt and cinnamon and a tablespoon of cocoa powder.
First thing you want to do is warm up the milk and heavy cream together in a saucepan on medium low heat. And then whisk in the cocoa powder, salt and cinnamon. The cinnamon is obviously optional but it tastes so so good in hot chocolate! And then chop up the chocolate into tiny pieces and mix it in the warm/hot milk until it melts. (My current favourite chocolate is the lindt dark chocolate – mint or orange. It is heavenlyyyy!)
After its done, obviously give it a taste just in case you want to add some sugar or more cocoa in -although I don’t really find the need add sugar to it. To each his own 🙂
Super easy no?
Almost forgot the best part. TOP YOUR HOT CHOCOLATE OFF WITH MINI MARSHMALLOWS AND WHIPPED CREAM. It is the best. thing. ever.
You’ll thank me later.
