I love waffles.
Waffles are the best! I could eat them anywhere any time, like potatoes. But lets leave that for another day.
Long story short, procrastination got the best of me, I caved into my cravings and ended up making some waffles. Even though I last posted on here a day ago, I realised that I hadn’t posted any foodie related goodness in over a month so i thought why the hell not! (I was sorta caught up with blogging about beauty…)
No fancy ingredients required except a waffle maker (for obvious reasons)
Heres how you make it.
Firstly, separate the egg white from the yolk (you need em both, so don’t throw anything away). And then in a bowl, mix up all the dry ingredients (flour, sugar and baking powder).. and then in another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients (melted butter, egg yolk, milk and vanilla extract).
Pour the wet into the dry and mix them together until you get a smooth batter with no lumps. Grab another clean bowl (so many bowls yeah i know), and whisk the egg white until they form soft peaks!
Gently fold the egg white into the batter with a spatula until you can’t see specks of white anymore, and you got yourself some waffle batter!
Heat up your waffle iron, pour in spoonfuls of the batter into it, wait for it to cook and bam you just made some waffles.
This recipe yields 8-10 waffles.
You could eat them as is with some butter, or you could drizzle on some maple syrup or honey with a little side of berries; serve them warm though!
I opted for some honey and strawberries as you can see below.
Making waffles is easier than it seems, the only struggle is getting a foolproof recipe. This recipe works just great for me but I’m yet to try out the other different types of waffles one day!
Thanks a bunch for reading le blog, I hope Ive made you crave some waffles!
