Everyone loves a good ice cream sundae.
And this one i’m going to talk about today, is kinda like a grown up sophisticated version of a sundae. No, not all sundaes are covered in hot fudge and cherries. I saw this recipe on YouTube a couple weeks ago, and i just had to try it. I’ve always been intrigued by grilled fruit, it always makes a person go all SAYWHUUUUUT? WHO GRILLS FRUIT. Well, i do 🙂
And it doesn’t taste so bad at all. It has a lovely smokey flavor which doesn’t overwhelm the flavor of the fruit, but just fits perfectly. But hey, grilling it till it burns into black ashes is an entirely different story. Lets not even go there. There are a million recipes that include grilling fruit, its no biggie.
Anyway, this recipe calls for nectarines, but i personally LOVE peaches, so i suggest the use of peach too. You can use whatever you want to really – nectarines, peaches, apricots will do too!
So, the first thing you want to do is create the errr marinade? Its basically what you’re going to coat the fruit with, so it gets the whole FLAVORGASM. And, what youll need for that, is as follows.
1 Tbsp of Honey
¼ Tsp of Cinnamon
1 Tbsp of unsalted butter – melted.
Lalala, mix all of that together. Halve the nectarines and remove the pits – obviously. I do not know how i could forget this part, but this recipe serves 4, and 2 nectarines can be used. Kapeesh? and and and toss the nectarines in the mixture, and make sure its coated all around.
Throw them into your grill, which should have been preheating on medium high.
Toss them around and grill for around 2 minutes, on each side.
And bam, you’re done.
When serving, top each halve with a small scoop of ice cream, and a sprig of mint – and its good to go. into your tummy of course.
Try it out, and leave a comment letting me know about how things turned out! 😀
